Ice dripping on the Elbow

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

After two oldies now it is time for something new.

I shot this picture at the lookout on the Elbow Falls (not in the picture) and I like the way the Ice made the view to the river nicer.

It is nice to see the fresh snow and the ice hanging on the rocks you can almost feel the fresh air in your mouth.

Calgary Skyline at night

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

OK I start with saying go look at the big picture by clicking on it (something i normally don’t allow)

calgarynight

This shot was just a little test of my new tripod and it works better then expected.

You see taking pictures in the Dark is something I love to do and something I really need to do more often.

This shot has to much light on the right so next time i need to work a little bit better on the area i put in my photo

Meadow in the sky

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

I like the way this mountain view looks. This picture is take on top of mount Revelstoke at the Meadows in the Sky and yes they are beautifull meadows.

Snow can be there till late in the season but when it goes it looks like this.

Ready for the rain

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Yes the rain clouds are waiting for the sun to completely hides.

I took this picture on highway 1a between Banff and Lake Louise and I liked the bright and darks in the stone and sky.

Prince House in Christmas Spirit

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

Christmas 2008 in Heritage Park in Calgary. The snow added some extra decorations.

The Prince House from 1894 that you can now find in Heritage Park in Calgary shows it’s true colors in the fresh snow.

I took this picture from a low angle shooting a part of the wall that separates the road from the garden at the Prince House that is why you see the snow on the foreground. Unfortunately I did not look and now there is a part of another building in my shot on the left if i would only have gone down a little bit more.

A well you see the winter brings some nice pictures again.

Hang in there

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

Driving by this old shed made me want to stop every time but it took a couple of times before I did and lucky me it was still standing.

I think the only reason why this old building is still standing is the luck the the old steel fence poles are strong enough to hold it, if those poles where not there the shed would have bin a big wooden puzzle.

A building like this askes for a final photo before it can pass on to it’s next life as firewood.

Where is the building?

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Parking the car to go for a little walk through the Ingelwood are in Calgary this was the first thing I noticed.

It is the side of an old building and it just looks so neat all those pieces of wood and then the doors and windows just trying to say come true me and enter a new world.

Again the old makes it beautifull to take photo’s of great lines and just a great picture.

Role it away

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Hay all rolled up ready to be transported to a farm where some farm animals can enjoy a feast this winter.

Driving by this photo made me stop and back up. I did not even leave the car to take this shot but I could also not take it.

The colors make it work for me the bright sky and boring browns make it all in to a great photo for me. What do you think about it?

Nice Colors of the lake in Lake Louise

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

lake louise Canada
I know it is hard to believe that I did NOT change anything on this photo. Everything you see is as it was the color of the water is strange and believe me even stranger when you are standing there at the lake looking at it.

The colors come from the stuff the water brings from the glasiers that fill the lake. And the lake changes colors a couple of times in the season.

Corner Gas

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Many of you who don’t watch Canadian TV probably never ever heard of Corner Gas but let me tell you this you are missing out. It is so funny not even funny.

So I went to see Dog River (Roleau SK) where the set is of Corner Gas and this was one of the shots I took. The Famous Gas Pump and the Corner Gas sign.

Just a shame that the last season is done filming lets hope that the set stays for tourist to see.
