Fitbit Ultra what i think

As many of you know I a technology geek and that means if I can use some fun gadgets to get things done then I want them.

So I like to walk and I like to know how much I did and till now I used and app called “Kinetic Lite” on my iPhone and this app sends this data of my walks to a site called Dailymile. And that is great fun (for a geek like me) because now I can see how much I walk certain days and how fast and how much a week, month and year(s).

All in all a great way to track your activities but not good enough for me 🙂

I walk a lot for work, sometimes I walk the Calgary airport like 3 times to get my work done or I walk through another store for 5 hours and these distances I can’t track.

And I would like to do at least 10 steps a day but with no way of tracking it get frustrating. OK I could buy a cheap step counter at the dollarstore and start and yes this kinda works. But not really for me.

First of all those things are not precise enough for me and secondly how does my data end up on the computer so that it gets tracked.

So a while back (maybe a year or more) I heard about a device called fitbit this is a fancy step counter that tracks you steps and stores it online so that you can track your exercise.

And now they have a fitbit ultra that even tracks things like incline and stair and intensity. And you can even track you sleep.

So I thought about it and thought about it and finally I decide to buy one.

The fitbit is small like the size of a bluetooth headset and you carry it on you pants or different place on your body all day long and then it tracks your steps and distance and even makes a little flower grow to show that you are making the miles.

I am really excited about it and can’t wait for the mailman to deliver it but they say it can take up to 4 weeks to get here……….

So I have to wait which is hard for me but then when it gets here I will be ready to hit the pavement and keep you all posted about my exercises.

    That is so cool, I am at the gym a lot and this would help me for the days that I am not motivated!!
