Deer by the river

December 21st, 2008

This big fellow I found wandering the sides of the Bow river in Banff. Lots of tourist also wanted the picture and I have an nice one planned for tomorrow.

photo wise the picture is OK but I liked how the background worked with this big deer.

Burning Hot

December 15th, 2008

Look a stove a wood burning stove. You can see the little flames in the back in the glowing fire.

Unfortunately there was a little wooden pole that I was not allowed to move so that is why the dark shadow is on the stove, it is not my head :)

I like the way the composition worked when I brought it to this angle. OK it know that it does not look straight but I think it looks nice.

The colors of the metal and then the little gap to show the fire that almost makes you feel you can go in there to another world. See you need to have imagination by looking at my photo’s

Prince House in Christmas Spirit

December 14th, 2008

Christmas 2008 in Heritage Park in Calgary. The snow added some extra decorations.

The Prince House from 1894 that you can now find in Heritage Park in Calgary shows it’s true colors in the fresh snow.

I took this picture from a low angle shooting a part of the wall that separates the road from the garden at the Prince House that is why you see the snow on the foreground. Unfortunately I did not look and now there is a part of another building in my shot on the left if i would only have gone down a little bit more.

A well you see the winter brings some nice pictures again.

Frosting

December 14th, 2008

Yes winter is here and to show you how nice winter is look at these shapes of ice made on the window.

OK I cropt the picture a fair bit to get the best parts out because it is kinda difficult to make a photo of glass with all the light around you, specially if you just see this when you walk by a window.

I love the shapes they almost look like leaves of ice. Lets hope winter will bring us more nice photo’s like this.

Green Snow

December 8th, 2008

Yellow snow we all know but what about green snow?

Here is a picture of some fresh green snow taken on a biush with colored Christmas lights. The green light makes the snow melt a bit and colors it green like the color of the bulb.

Calgary Skyline in the snow

December 8th, 2008

Calgary got a big dump of snow today. I guess December 7, 2008 is the first real dump of snow in Calgary this season. We got a little bit before but that did not count compared to this dump.

I took the skyline photo through some branches with snow to get the special effect. Unfortunatly i needed to go to a high ISO so the picture got more grainy then i wanted but still a nice shot i think.

On one of the buildings (Telus) you can see a candle and Christmas trees.

Nailed it

December 7th, 2008

Do not ask me where I took this pictuer because I can’t remeber but what I can remeber is that below the bottom nail there was nothing that I wanted on the picutre.

A looks like a nice piece of wood with nice grain and then those big metal nails in it to connect it to something.

Not much more to say about it but is looks fun to me.

Friendly Phone

December 3rd, 2008

Look I look like a telephone and a funny face to.

I found this Telephone when walking around at Once Upon a Christmas at the Heritage Park in Calgary and the face was talking :) so it needed a photo for you all to enjoy.

Let’s hope this catogory get a lot more funny faces. I will keep my eye out for more.

Dare to look

November 9th, 2008

The last one of this years series, I hope to get some great new photo’s next year but this is what I have for now.

The Sunflower looks naugthy if it did something bad but the his fake smile kinda tells you it did.

Again a great photo for me and thanks to the person that took the time to make it I now have a small series of Sunflower Heads for everyone to enjoy year round.

Hang in there

November 8th, 2008

Driving by this old shed made me want to stop every time but it took a couple of times before I did and lucky me it was still standing.

I think the only reason why this old building is still standing is the luck the the old steel fence poles are strong enough to hold it, if those poles where not there the shed would have bin a big wooden puzzle.

A building like this askes for a final photo before it can pass on to it’s next life as firewood.
